This is a busy week for the Lisbon startup ecosystem.

Among a lot of events, there’s the Digital Tech Summit, an initiative of the Tech Tour and the International Venture Club happening between today, 20, and 21 of October. Taking place alongside the European Commission’s ICT2015, it will make Lisbon the place of one of the biggest weeks in Digital Tech Entrepreneurship and Investment in 2015.

The Digital Tech Summit will showcase the best investment opportunities within the digital industry in Europe, mainly in four fields:

  • Web & Mobility
  • Cloud & Big data
  • Fintech
  • Security & Cyber Security

A delegation of 150+ leading global industry players, industry advisors and representatives from cross-venture capital and global investment firms, are attending the event. Total estimated assets under management of attending investors are estimated at €20+ billion.

According to Stephan Morais, Executive Director at Caixa Capital and President of the 2015 Digital Tech Summit,

We’re delighted to be hosting the 8th edition of the Digital Tech Summit in Lisbon, home to one of Europe’s fastest growing technology hubs. The Summit’s mission is to connect promising disruptive new businesses to potential investors, and with this year’s outstanding line-up of startups, we believe that investors and companies alike will derive great value from the two days.

The Summit received more than 140 startup applications from 20 countries across Europe. The 36 final companies were selected based on the uniqueness of their technology, the strength of their business model, their capability to execute on the business plan and the quality and track record of their management. At the event, selected entrepreneurs seeking funding will present their businesses to an audience of over eighty Venture Capital firms, Business Angels, Corporate and Institutional Investors and influencers who are looking for companies to invest in the sector. And there are 9 Portuguese Startups among the top, from a variety of fast growing categories such as Web Mobility, Internet of Things, Financial Technologies, Big Data, Cloud, Security and Cybersecurity:
