Advertising technology is becoming an increasingly important part of how media companies manage their commercial operations. For publishers with multiple brands and advertising products, coordinating sales, campaign delivery and billing can require complex systems and substantial manual work. ADvendio is looking to address that challenge through a new partnership with Advance Local.

The US media and marketing group has selected ADvendio as its long-term partner for advertising order management and agentic advertising infrastructure. The platform will bring together processes spanning sales, campaign management, fulfilment, billing and revenue operations, replacing fragmented workflows with a unified system.

Advance Local’s portfolio includes NJ.com, AL.com, MLive, OregonLive and Cleveland.com, which reach more than 50 million people each month. Beyond publishing, the company operates specialist marketing agencies serving travel and tourism, healthcare and education, as well as businesses in its regional markets.

The variety of clients and advertising products makes operational consistency a central concern. According to the announcement, Advance Local selected ADvendio after evaluating its capabilities across the advertising lifecycle, with particular attention to automation and governance.

Building the infrastructure for the next stage of advertising

The agreement is intended to reduce manual intervention and align pricing, inventory execution and billing. For Advance Local, the expected benefit is a more integrated commercial operation, allowing teams to spend less time coordinating internal processes and more time working with advertisers.

Natalie Pruitt, president of Advance Solutions, a division of Advance Local, said the platform was selected to support the group’s client-service priorities.

“At Advance Solutions, everything starts with helping our clients succeed. We wanted an operations platform that supports that mission. By unifying planning, fulfilment and reporting, ADvendio streamlines the work behind the scenes and gives our teams more time to focus on what matters most: understanding our clients’ challenges and helping them achieve better business outcomes.”

The longer-term plan includes introducing new workflows, expanding automation and incorporating AI-driven capabilities as the business develops. However, the companies have not disclosed specific AI applications, an implementation timeline or the financial terms of the agreement.

Bernd Bube, founder and CEO of ADvendio, described the deal as an opportunity to support Advance Local’s long-term development.

“This is an incredibly exciting moment for the whole ADvendio family, as Advance Local is a hugely prestigious organisation. We are thrilled to have received their confidence in this decision, and the opportunity to partner in their long-term growth and development. I look forward to helping them achieve their goals, and learning what more additional value we can unlock.”

For ADvendio, the partnership provides an opportunity to expand its role in the advertising technology market. For Advance Local, the immediate challenge is to make its commercial operations more consistent and efficient. Whether the investment eventually delivers more autonomous advertising workflows will depend on how the platform is implemented and which AI capabilities the group chooses to adopt.
