Portugal’s longest-running accelerator, ineo Start, is closing it’s ninth edition with a Demo Day on May 17 where 11 new startups will be showcased.

Eleven new projects created by Portuguese startups related to areas such as technology, health, civil protection, creative industries, and renewable energy are participating in the ninth edition of ineo Start, an acceleration program of technologies and business ideas promoted by the Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN), the University of Coimbra, and jeKnowledge.

The projects will be publicly presented to an audience of investors, potential clients, partners and other stakeholders on the Demo Day, which will take place on May 17, Thursday, at 2PM, at the IPN Accelerator Auditorium. The entrance is free, and tickets are available here.

Among the 11 projects to be presented by the Portuguese startups include a technological solution to prevent the elderly from falling, an intelligent support system for forest fire management, a 3D printer developed with space technology, and a biennial of contemporary art.

Anozero

Anozero is Biennial of Contemporary Art of Coimbra is an initiative that assumes as its primary objective a confrontation between contemporary art and heritage, promoting a reflection on the classification of the University of Coimbra, Alta and Sofia as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Fabricate in Space

The Fabricate in Space (BEE2B) project aims to develop precision die-casting additive manufacturing equipment (FFF) that meets the industry’s 4.0 concept with reliability, durability and, above all, quality of printed parts, making prototyping and small series production more efficient in the shortest possible time.

As a very promising technology for semi-industrial and professional applications, the FFF additive manufacturing can effectively represent a new industrial revolution for these sectors, with significant advantages in terms of manufacturing time, environmental level, considering the high rate of raw material utilization compared to conventional processes.

Glam To Glam

Glam To Glam is a service that promotes and facilitates the exchange of clothing in a safe and profitable way. Now, it is possible to build a dream wardrobe in an affordable and sustainable way.

Nova Supports

Nova Supports develops intelligent decision support systems for forest fire management using state-of-the-art technologies. Provides services to civil protection agents, the public community, companies and institutions.

Intellimarket

Intellimarket is a tool to support the internationalization of companies. It is a web application that through an application programming interface can communicate with public procurement sites by extracting in a first phase the opportunities corresponding to the Common Procurement Vocabulary defined by the company.

Next, the application hierarchizes the opportunities in terms of attractiveness, using the proprietary algorithm that takes into account variables such as market size and growth, practiced price dynamics, competitive intensity, and political and currency risk of the country.

S&DGConsulting

S&DGConsulting provides for the management of the supply of excess production of intermittent renewable energy, such as wind and solar, through the storage of compressed natural gas in gas stations, when there is an increase in demand, generate electricity in a distributed way.

ProtexAging

ProtexAging is a new product with a new chemical entity targeting a new therapeutic target that will slow the progression of chronic diseases associated with aging, resulting in greater effectiveness and fewer adverse effects, improving the quality of life of millions of patients with consequent gains in health.

StepAging

StepAging aims to develop a technological solution to prevent falls in the older population and thus promote active aging.

The solution proposed by StepAging aims to contribute to the quality of life of the older population. According to WHO, approximately 30-40% of people 70 years of age or older fall every year and falls-related injuries are a major cause of pain, loss of independence and death.

Tox4Nano

Tox4Nano promotes the successful implementation of nanotechnology in the market by offering a systematic assessment of the safety and toxicity of nanomaterials. Tox4Nano intends to provide an optimized and validated toxicity test platform for nanomaterials.

Wedata

Wedata is an API for collecting, processing and providing data for retail businesses that are dissatisfied with the reliability and cost of market analysis. This tool connects target products and markets from social networks and direct consumer feedback, unlike current data and marketing analytics platforms.

Battery Management Software

Battery Management Software’s tools and simple application evaluate in real-time the lifetime of a battery and can reduce the cost of storing electricity through batteries and thus make transport with electric propulsion systems more attractive while optimizing other existing systems.

ineo Start Demo Day Perks

On the ineo Start Demo Day representatives from potential investors, clients, and partners such as AICEP, Alpac Capital, Amorim Cork Ventures, BankInter, Beta Capital, Brisa, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, Busy Angels, SCR, SA, Navigator Company, Novabase Capital, Portugal Ventures, Red Angels, Startup Portugal, and Vega Ventures will be in attendance.

In the last eight editions of ineo Start, more than 300 participants gathered in about 100 teams and created companies with a survival rate of 85%, including DoDoc, Book in Loop, InEye, EcoXperience, TUU , Space Layer Tech, Pavnext, MedSimLab, MitoDiets and BSIM2.

This event is an integral part of the University of Coimbra’s INOV-C 2020 Program. The project is co-financed by the Center 2020 Program, Portugal 2020 and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
